Library Update | Week 4

Self-Checkout
We are excited to let you know we now have a self-checkout station up and running. A few students from Prep-Year 6 have trialled borrowing their books this week and love it! We have received very positive feedback.  Over the next few weeks, all classes will be introduced to self-checkout during their borrowing time.

Year 6-Introduction to Business
This term in Library, Year 6 will be learning about Economics and Business as part of the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) curriculum. HASS also encompasses History, Geography and Civics and Citizenship. On Thursday afternoon, we held an ‘Introduction to Business’ session in the auditorium.

We sincerely thank Mr Stuart More, Mrs Justine Broderick, Mr Chris Cheng, Mrs Georgi Oxley, Mr Simon Tsoi and Mr David Christmas for giving their time to speak to Year 6 about their businesses and share their experiences with us. Both students and teachers alike were intrigued! The classes will follow up with some research in the Library and put a presentation together. We are also very fortunate to have the Year 11 Business and Management students visiting each class to share their knowledge and assist.

Chinese Reading at Lunchtime
The Chinese Lunchtime Reading Program continued for Years 3-6 students this week as Early Childhood attended their disco. We look forward to welcoming all students Prep-Year 6 back to the Library next Friday to relax and enjoy Chinese Storytime.
