This week has been a very difficult one for many of us and we are all hoping that the situation begins to stabilise next week. The school will continue to monitor the situation and make the best decisions we can, with the information we have.
We still have 4 weeks left of school and there are still various events for parents and students to look forward to until the end of the year. As always, the safety of our community is of utmost importance and should any changes to these events be required, we will inform you accordingly.
Year 3-6 Swimming and Prep-Year 2 Sport Carnivals
The year 3-6 swimming carnival is scheduled for Thursday 21 November at Kwun Tong Swimming Pool. We also have the Prep-Year 2 Athletics Carnival at King’s Park on 26 November. These events are always a great day, which parents are also most welcome to attend.
Year 6 Graduation and Celebration Assembly for Year 2
This year, the Year 6 Graduation will take place on Tuesday 3 December in the AISHK Auditorium. This after-school event will be followed by their ‘Hollywood’ themed disco on the Green Roof in the evening. Prep-Year 5 students will have the opportunity to experience highlights of the Year 6 Graduation at the Primary final assembly on the last day of Term 4 (11 December).
Jingle and Mingle Evening
On Thursday 5 December, we have our Jingle and Mingle carols evening for AISHK families. Starting at about 4:30pm, families are welcome to bring their picnic rugs and enjoy some carols and student performances on the AISHK Field. More information to come soon.
Primary Art Exhibition – Re-Scheduled
The Primary Art Exhibition has been delayed until 25-26 November and will be held in the AISHK Auditorium. We encourage the school community to come along and enjoy this showcase of wonderful student artwork. Every Primary student will have at least one art piece on display. The students are very excited about sharing their artwork with the community.
Cancellation of Events
Originally, Scott Darlow, an Australian Aboriginal performer was scheduled to work with students this week. Unfortunately, due to the suspension of classes at AISHK and Scott’s schedule, we will not be able to proceed with this event. We will aim to invite Scott back for a visit in 2020. Primary Writing Workshops for parents were also cancelled this week. We are seeking alternative dates for these workshops and will be in contact with parents accordingly. We are also working with the Department of Health as to the re-scheduling of three dental visits, which were to take place this week.
We sincerely thank you for your understanding regarding these changes to our events.
Have a great weekend and we hope everyone stays safe.
Brendan Kean | Head of Primary
