Happy Father’s Day to all AISHK Dads!

In true AISHK community spirit, a wonderful Father’s Day morning was held at school this morning, ahead of the Australian Father’s Day this Sunday 1 September.

Despite a rainy start to the day, some 400 dads and children arrived at 7:30am for our first ever Father’s Day breakfast on the field. The early, hearty meal was not only delicious but great fuel for the many activities that followed!

All Primary classes provided fantastic Father’s Day fun in homerooms, ranging from board games and construction challenges, to chocolate-making and crafts. The 4th and 6th Floor Gyms hosted a variety of sports stations with something for everyone – Dads enjoyed an array of activities including shooting hoops and sack races alongside their children.

The festivities culminated with the Year 3-6 Assembly, hosted by Year 5 who arranged a special Father’s Day song and video for all to enjoy. Special thanks to Corey Wilson who created the Year 5 video.

Thank you to all who ensured today’s event was an enjoyable one. Celebrations at AISHK involve the dedication and creativity of teachers and staff, and benefit greatly from the volunteer commitment and support of the Parent Association. From the staff supervisors and volunteer parent chefs to the students and Dad’s who enthusiastically enjoyed the morning, your contributions are appreciated.

This Sunday is an extra opportunity for us to show gratitude to all fathers and grandfathers, wherever they may be, and to acknowledge the special and important part they play in our lives. Our school is certainly lucky to enjoy the support of AISHK Dads in so many ways.
