AISHK swimmers reaching their peak with competition success in November

AISHK swimmers continue their journey to being red hot with great success in two recent ISSFHK swim meets – achievements that a couple of years back were just a dream. On Friday 9 November, AISHK Senior U16’s and U20’s Boys team won the ISSFHK overall age group champion, beating thirteen other international school swimming teams in Hong Kong. A week before, AISHK Junior U12’s Girls team beat twelve other teams to win the ISSFHK overall age group champion and our Boys team won the ISSFHK overall champion.

Temana Short won the Under 20 Boys 50m and 100m Freestyle while coming second in the 50m Backstroke. Temana’s time of 24.86 seconds and 55.33 seconds, in the 50m and 100m Freestyle; were also a new ISSFHK record.

Elodie Mak won the Under 12 Girls 100m, 200m Freestyle, and 50m Fly. Elodie’s 100m freestyle time of 1:04.17seconds and 200m freestyle time of 2:18.09seconds; were also a new ISSFHK record.

Lorraine Tang won the Under 14 Girls 50m Freestyle and Breaststroke while coming second in the 50m Backstroke. Lorraine’s time of 36.55 seconds in the 50m Breaststroke were also a new ISSFHK record.

Our Under 12 Girls Relay Team (Aavni Ahuja, Shanae Ohlson, Kylie Roberts, and Elodie Mak) won the Under 12 Girls 4x50m Freestyle Relay. Also, their time of 2:07.70seconds was a new ISSFHK record.

Many of our younger swimmers swam personal best times while getting a taste of competition in a world class swimming pool.

The atmosphere in all the meets was electric, with huge support from the AISHK friends and families, many of whom had their heads nearly falling off with all the cheering. Also, well done to all swimmers who participated in the ISSFHK Swimming Champs, it sure was a fantastic day!
