As we begin our last school week for 2018 I want to thank everyone for an incredible year. It is hard to believe that we are now celebrating Christmas as it only feels like yesterday that I was attending my first Welcome BBQ in January! Life certainly feels as though it goes so much more quickly in Hong Kong.
Having a new Head of School can cause some anxiety for the community but I hope that as you have gotten know me this year that these concerns have been alleviated.
I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all the members of our community this year. Many schools claim to have a strong sense of community but I have never experienced anything quite like the AISHK community. It is very warm, welcoming and inclusive. Growing up in a small country town in Australia I see many similarities between AISHK and this town; a strong sense of community, support and care for one another and everyone knows absolutely everyone and everything about everyone! I feel at home at AISHK!
I hope that you have the opportunity to join us for some of our end of year celebrations next week such as our Jingle and Mingle and our Speech day events. It is great that we can bring our community together to celebrate both the end of the year and Christmas.
To those families who are leaving us I hope that you have enjoyed your time at AISHK. I hope that you are leaving us with very fond memories of your time in Hong Kong. Please come back and visit us whenever you are in Hong Kong.
May you all enjoy the festivities of the upcoming holiday season. I wish you all a very safe, relaxing and happy time with your families. I hope that during the holiday break you get time to spend with your families and loved ones and that you appreciate the time together. May 2019 be a year of good health and much happiness.
See you all in January!
