U/14 ISSFHK Silver Division Soccer Season

This year we enter two boys’ teams and one girls’ team into this tournament. The season is relatively rushed for us as our holidays do not coincide with other international schools within Hong Kong, meaning that at times, we were required to play 2-3 games a week which tested the students out.

The boy’s Division 2 team played their pool games and improved with every match but did not reach the playoff stages. The boy’s Division 1 team played some very strong teams in this division however did progress through to the semi-final stage. The boys played their finals and after these games placed 4th overall.

The girls were in Division 1 for this tournament and gave their best at all their games. After the pool stages the girls were placed 4th and this then progressed them through to the playoff games. They won their first semi after a penalty shootout against the number one ranked team going into the playoffs with some great saves by Imogen Felton in goals. The final came around and the girls were up for it and a brilliant team goal finished off by Amelia Gibson sealed the championship for them. A great result for these girls to come from forth and take out the title.

A massive thank you to Mr Bird, Mr Skellern and Mr McGunnigle that coached and managed these teams as without them these things don’t happen.
