Our inquiry unit this term is all about water. There will be lots of opportunities to discuss, explore, question, read and find out about where water comes from, where it goes and how we can conserve it and use it sustainably. On Monday, David Christmas, the AISHK Business Manager, came down to speak to our kids about water usage at our school. We found out lots of interesting information about how it’s stored, the swimming pool and the bubblers. Come to our next assembly to find out more! In the coming weeks we will be finding out about the science behind it all and learning about the water cycle. Perhaps you could have a conversation with your child about how you use water at home and if there’s anything you could do to use it more sustainably.
You will see in the Dates to Remember that some Year 2s will do a dental visit this term. This is only for students who were signed up to the dental programme by their parents when the note went home earlier in the year. This will take place during the school day and the students will be accompanied by staff members.
The school fair will soon be upon us and you will have noticed that the students brought home raffle tickets this week. We appreciate your efforts in helping to sell them and ask that you make sure you return any unsold tickets in the envelope. This is very important as we are legally bound to account for all tickets. Thank you to the class parents who are helping to organise prizes and find resources for our stalls. We really appreciate all your efforts in the build-up and on the day itself. It’s sure to be a fun event!
Look out for our next newsletter in week 4, when we will update you with what’s going on with our learning. Meanwhile, as always, you can contact us by email or via the diaries if you have any questions or relevant news to share.
Have a lovely weekend.
