Welcome into Term 4
Term 4 is well under way and the secondary students have settled well into their routines with plenty of opportunity for holiday adventure sharing. Some new students have joined us this term and we welcomed them as well as having student buddies on-hand to guide them into the weekly patterns.
The Year 12 HSC students commence their public examinations this week from Thursday, October 18. Our students sit the examinations at the same time as the 76,000 students in NSW, with a small allowance made because of the earlier start for us here in Hong Kong.
The Year 12 IB students will complete their formal school attendance this week and then have some STUVAC time before commencing their examinations on October 30.
We wish both the HSC and IB students much success in their examination endeavours.
A big talking point for secondary students this term will be their preparation and choices for Activity Week 2019. The range of choices will be made clear to them late next week, with a selection opportunity being available late in the week following for Years 9-11, and in the weeks after that for Year 7. Year 8 will be attending the HKAYP Outward Bound camp experience for Activity Week 2019.
The are always limits on the number of places available in Activity Week courses and compromising personal wishes, in accommodating availability and other needs, is part of the selection and alignment process.
I look forward to seeing Year 11 parents at our parent/teacher conversations on the afternoon of October 30. This interview time is an opportunity to look forward to the 12 months that lie ahead for the successful preparation of our Year 11’s for their graduation in 2019.
Wishing you an enjoyable Chung Yeung Festival holiday on Wednesday.
