Our Year 12 students have been in top form as they prepare for the completion of their schooling at AISHK.
Last Saturday evening, at the Senior Formal, was a wonderful occasion of sharing dinner, celebrating performance, catching some ‘superlative’ awards, capturing an extraordinary number of photo images, and some dancing thrown in. The rites of passage of being able to dress-up for an event and socialise in a sophisticated environment are important steps in the pathway to an adult life of successful independence.
And during this week final projects and assessments are due before the Valedictory events and STUVAC, leading to the external examinations.
The HSC Design and Technology students, “the best D&T students I have taught”, says Ms Carini, had their final projects due August 30. Well done to them on their completion of these very large tasks. Now its over to the external markers to complete their evaluations and marking here at AISHK on October 9.
On Tuesday 28 August we were privileged to see the HSC Music and Drama students perform their ‘works’ for an audience, in preparation for the formal markers’ visits on September 10 and October 12. It was a wonderful evening of entertainment as we segued through dramatic monologues, group productions, exceptional singing and instrumental performances. The Year 12 IB music students also supported the performances.
The task expectations are high for subjects with practical elements, such as D&T, Art, Music and Drama but the rewards via strong results are also typical and commensurate.
We look forward to celebrating the successes and work of the Class of 2018 at the Valedictory Dinner and Valedictory Assembly in the last days of this term.
