On Wednesday 20 June, Reception to Year 12 came together on the field for our first ever whole school Jump Jam event! The aim was to foster strong friendships and relationships across all departments and build a foundation of gratitude, compassion and respect among the student body. It was one massive display of unity, positive spirit and friendship.
On the day, students were placed into smaller groups and met in the Primary classrooms to play some get to know each other games. From there, we all congregated on the field and such fun was had by all.
There were countless people working behind the scenes to make the event such a success, but a huge shout out must go to our amazing Year 10 students for leading the whole school in the Jump Jam routines. The number of students involved grew as the training went on, but we had 40 fantastic Year 10’s stand up and show us how it’s done. They gave up their time to learn the moves and showed great commitment and School spirit.
A special mention also needs to be made to our House Captains in both Primary and Secondary for their help in creating posters, display boards and of course the flash mob in the atrium on Tuesday morning as we entered the school buildings. Our Captains certainly stepped up to the plate and showed great leadership and enthusiasm.
It was fantastic to see all students and staff focused on positivity, encouragement and friendship as we danced away to some classic tunes that we were all singing for the rest of the day.
It was an event to remember, and we can’t wait for the next opportunity to bring everyone together again.
