Yesterday, the Year Two children all participated in an ‘Olden Day Games’ morning. The children experienced games that were played in the past such as knucklebones, hopscotch, elastics, payana a South American game and a Korean game called foot sacky. The children all had a fantastic morning experiencing what life was like as a child in the past. Thank you again to those parents who volunteered their time to supervise an activity.
Next week, the children will be celebrating Chinese Week. Chinese Week allows the children to experience various aspects of Chinese culture and to use their Mandarin to purchase things on shopping day. Below is the schedule of activities for week 7.
Monday – Lion Dance on the field at 10.30am. If weather is looking wet the lion dance will be moved to the auditorium.
Tuesday – Chinese Games and Shopping Day (the children can bring $20 to spend)
Friday – Chinese Early Childhood assembly and Chinese costume day
On Friday, the children can dress up in Chinese clothing. For girls, they could wear a cheongsam or a changshan for boys. Those children wearing Chinese clothing may like to bring their P.E uniform to change into later as the weather is quite hot. If the children do not want to dress up then they are to wear their usual school uniform.
