Our Prep students are enjoying the many facets of Prep life. They are settling into their routines and are commencing their wonderful learning journey as they begin to read and write. Celebrate your child’s success with them and engage in their learning when they come to you to ask questions or be shown how to do something new.
This week readers started coming home and we hope the home reading experience is a positive one. Please contact your teacher if you need support or have questions about the readers. Your child reading to you is meant to be a exhibition of their success, they should be proud and confident to show you their skills. The readers coming home should be achievable for your child, and are not meant to stretch them but to consolidate their reading skills.
The weather is warming up and our classrooms and playground are very warm during the day. The school vest and jacket are adequate warmth if needed, please don’t send students in puffer jackets or extra top layers which are not part of the school uniform. Also, please don’t dress them in multiple layers under the school uniform as the children become very hot during the day and the under layers are hard to remove.
At the end of term we will be having our Prep Family BBQ to celebrate the end of our Integrated Studies unit exploring family. We hope you can join us on Tuesday 27 March. There was a Google form emailed home – please fill this in for catering purposes.
We have noticed some parents and helpers are inside the school before pick-up time. Please use the gates on Norfolk road and wait for the gates to be opened by security when the bell goes. This helps for much smoother streamlined pick up procedure, especially on the internal stairs.
When our swimming program starts next week please send your child in their PE or PMP uniform for ease of changing. Some classes have swimming two days in a row so we are allowing for flexibility in case of not having time to clean uniforms overnight.
