Year 10 student Bill Thorley has once again produced astounding results in swimming. What Bill achieved in Open Water swimming over the Australian summer is unprecedented. Significantly, he became the Australian champion, a massive victory finishing in front of some of Australia’s strongest swimmers.

Bill has now been selected to represent Hong Kong at the Asian Open Water Championships in Thailand, February 24-25, where he will compete in the Open division.

Dec 3: South Australian State Championships 7.5km 15 years – Gold medal
Dec 10: NSW State Championships – 7.5km 15 years – Gold medal
Dec 17: Victorian State Championships – Gold medals in 15 years 5km & 7.5km
Dec 30: 10km Open Water Series Mullaloo, Perth WA – Overall winner
Jan 7: Hong Kong 5km Championships – Overall 2nd (1st placed HK swimmer)
Jan 13: New Zealand Championships – 15 years 10 km —Gold medal
Jan 20: Optus Sydney Harbour Swim – 11-15 years 2km – Gold medal
Jan 26: Australian Championships Day 1- Gold medal 16 years 7.5km
Jan 27: Australian Championships Day 2- Silver medal 16 years 5km
