Transition Week Feedback
‘One leap to start and many steps to finish!’ Transition Day has made me feel more confident about starting Secondary School.’ – Hayley Allen
‘High school is not so different- it’s just a change.’ – Blake Philip
Our Year Six students have had a great week experiencing life in Secondary School. As well as going up for our annual Transition Day, each class had an additional day shadowing Year Seven students. This gave them a taste of what a regular day in Secondary School is like. We have had lots of great feedback from the students, who have really enjoyed sharing their experiences from what has been a really valuable week. As this is the first year in which we have piloted this scheme, we welcome any feedback from parents based on conversations with your sons or daughters. This feedback can be sent to either Mr Bird (email@example.com) or to the current Head of Year Seven, Christina Carini (firstname.lastname@example.org).
We anticipate that the uniform shop will be very busy during the last few weeks of term. As such, we recommend that any students needing to purchase Secondary Uniform items do so as soon as possible. The uniform shop is open on Monday and Thursday each week.
Year Six Students and Teachers would like to extend a big thank you to Mrs Barbarah Dudman, who has led weekly yoga sessions during Semester Two. With our current focus on mindfulness, we have found that many students have really benefited from this early morning routine and have learnt new skills which they can continue to use in their daily lives. We are very grateful to Barbarah for sharing her expertise!
A reminder that with Graduation party next week, students should be thinking about outfits that either reflect our theme (feel the glow) or something that is smart/casual. We are sure that it should be a great evening on the Green Roof and fingers are still crossed for clear skies! If your son or daughter has not yet brought in their $200 dollar donation (which also goes towards DVD’s and T-shirts), we ask that they do so at their earliest convenience.
