[Student Report] Positive Murals

The welfare of all in the AISHK community has always been an important goal of the school. The idea of Positive Education, which is not a new idea as such, is a means to maintain the well-being of students and staff.

Much of the research that has been done regarding positive education sees the relationships that we have as being so important. The relationship with ourselves, our peers, teachers, family and even those who we pass in the street, all influence how we feel.

This term, the Year 7 Visual Art classes have begun the construction of six colourful murals. These murals show words that are often associated with Positive Education on a silhouette of people in a joyous pose. Each image has been ‘assigned’ a general theme; Caring, Habits, Success, Team, Trust, Values. The murals will be mounted on the stairwells of AISHK as a reminder of the language we can all use to help reinforce the message of flourishing through the relationships we build.
