If you missed the Year Four assembly last Friday then we have attached a link to the performance and video. Enjoy!
We invite all parents to attend our Year Four Games Arcade next Tuesday 28 November in the auditorium from 11 to 12pm. You have no doubt heard all about this project and the students are very excited to share their arcade games with you. We hope to see you there.
In Mathematics, students continue to work through the iMath investigations. They have just completed an investigation called ‘Nice Dice’ where they had to make a creative but fair dice. The final investigation they will complete is called ‘Fraction Fun’ where they will engage in a real-life experience with fractions and consolidate mathematical concepts. This investigation gives students the opportunity to plan a fraction party.
In English, students have begun working on an imaginative written composition around the theme of Journeys. They are innovating on an existing text by changing a variety of elements about the journey portrayed in the text. We are looking forward to reading these stories that will demonstrate students’ understanding of all the literary techniques we have explored this year.
We have finished homework for the year. Students have worked well through both their English Skills Builder and Mathematics booklets all year. They should continue to read for enjoyment and practise their multiplication and division facts. They will also be reminded to do some acts of kindness at home in the lead up to the end of term.
Library is hosting an excursion on Tuesday 5 December to go see ‘Wonder’ at the cinema. Most students have returned their permission slips, however, they are due back this Wednesday. Please ensure your child returns their form so that they can attend.
Wakka Wakka Talent Show
Congratulations to all the Year Four students who auditioned for the talent show. It was very exciting to see Cammie Oxley take the overall win. Matilda Dear also performed very well in her duet with Cammie. Well done girls!
There were many Year Four students who participated in Team Fear on Sunday. This action adventure race was set in Discovery Bay and covered 9kms where the students had to swim, run, rock scramble, ride, slide down mats and even jump off junks! Well done to Charlie Ware, Flynn Mansbridge and Scarlett Ezekiel who came third, and all the other students who participated in the challenging race!
A reminder that in Week Nine each class will host a class party to celebrate the end of the year and to farewell any students departing the school. The classroom teachers will provide more information on this closer to the date. This is an opportunity for the students to celebrate the wonderful year they have had together, and as per the school policy, parents are not invited.
