SPCA visit
On Thursday 2 November we were paid a special visit from Dr Emma Jane Ryan from the SPCA. She brought with her four very special guests; two puppies, a bearded dragon and a tortoise! The children loved hearing about the animals, how to care for them, where they live and what food they eat. We even got to touch the animals and quite a few brave children held the bearded dragon.
Zen Organic Farm
On Thursday 16 November we will be going to Zen Organic Farm. The bus will depart school at 9:00am and return to school at 1:30pm. The children will get the opportunity to do some bug watching and feed baby animals.
Please pack:
- Snack
- Water bottle
- Lunch
- Hat
We had an overwhelming number of parents volunteering to come with us to help. Unfortunately, we could only choose four parents per class. We would like to thank everyone that was willing to give up their time to come with us. Your support is truly appreciated. For the parents that were chosen to go, can you please meet at your child’s classroom no later than 8:40am.
Athletics Day
Athletics Day is on Thursday 23 November at King’s Park. There is a parent race so you might want to start warming up now!
Student leave forms
Just a reminder that if you are planning on leaving for holidays early could you please ensure you fill out the student leave information form and give it to your classroom teacher in advance. This form can be found on the school website.
Box of Hope
Box of Hope is a registered charity that was set up in Hong Kong in 2008, with the aim of providing children with the opportunity to provide a present to people less fortunate in places like Hong Kong, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines.
Students and other members of the AISHK community who wish to participate this year, can decorate a shoe box and fill the box with new, interesting and useful educational gifts from home.
The Box of Hope website – http://boxofhope.org/info/children/how/en/ – provides examples of how to make a box and suitable gifts.
Boxes can be dropped off at the Atrium on the 2nd floor at AISHK from Monday 6 November – Friday 10 November, after which they will be collected, checked and distributed to children in need throughout Hong Kong and Asia.
If you get a chance it would be good if you could show your students in Primary classes/Homeroom the following links on how Box of Hope works together with a video of children receiving their gifts.
