Animal Rumble Grumble
Firstly, congratulations to all students in Year One for their group and individual performances in the ‘Animal Rumble Grumble’. The effort each year level had put into their class part was outstanding. The Zebra’s and Lions were wonderful in their characterisation of their animal. A special thank you to all the parents that assisted in the preparation of the costumes and during the week’s performance.
What are we learning?
Literacy: The students will be exploring the concept ‘characterisation’. How do authors create their character? What do they do to make them interesting? Aaron Blabey will be our focus to develop the student’s awareness to authors tools such as emotions, words, symbols, detailed illustrations and body language.
Integrated Studies: Science! Over the term, the students will become budding scientists who will investigate the concept of change.
ICT: We will continue with coding and exploring this through the use of the Blue Bots as well using iPads as another way to code.
Mathematics: We revisit and continue with the strategies that help use solve simple math problems! Place Value, Money, Addition and Data.
Speaking and Listening: Speaking and listening tasks will be presentations and/ or reflections on pieces of work that the students have completed in the classroom.
