Primary Library News

This term we have a focus on kindness in our library lessons. In our classes, we will be reading ‘We’re All Wonders’ by R.J Palacio. This is a picture book based on Palacio’s well-known novel, ‘Wonder’ which has also been made into a movie.  It has been lovely to see the boys and girls becoming more aware of how random acts of kindness can change the world we live in.

We have only four weeks left for borrowing this term as all library books will need to be returned during library lessons in Week 8. I encourage all students to keep up their borrowing and read a variety of books each week; both fiction and non-fiction. A reminder Prep-Year 2 can borrow two books, Year 3-three books and Year 4, 5 and 6- four books each week.

A special mention to Elke Chaplin, 6B for receiving a Runner Up Place in the Grades 4 to 6 Category of Sarah Brennan’s Wonderful Whale Haiku Competition out of 94 entries from around the world! Congratulations Elke! Please click here to see Elke’s poem.

If your child would like to enter one of Sarah’s competitions, please keep an eye on her blog as Mrs Brennan will have another announcement in the coming weeks.

Lastly, a reminder that Scholastic Book Orders are due back on October 31st and payment can be made with cash or cheque.
