Big Wave Bay Excursion

This week all Year 5 and 6 students visited ‘Big Wave Bay’ as a culmination to their six week swimming program. The basis of the afternoon was to assimilate lifesaving and survival swimming skills in a realistic setting. Each house group rotated around four activities, performing skills such as:

  • sculling and body orientation
  • rescue skills
  • relays, entries and exits
  • survival and PFD activities

The day provided a fantastic opportunity for all, as many children tried new skills they had never experienced before.  The sun was shining and it was great to see so many enthusiastic, happy faces!

Thank you to our wonderful swim staff, in particular Eric Yeung, for leading each activity and to staff and assistants for helping with supervision.
