ISSFHK C- Grade Netball Competition 2017 Champions

A group of passionate netballers from Years 7 and 8 competed in ISSFHK U14 Netball Competition 2017 during Term 2.

The team was led by our Captain Bella Taper for our final game and Coached by Mrs Carter. We grew stronger as a team with every game we played. Proving our strengths going into the finals we only losing one game in all our previous matches. Our opponents for the final were West Island School (WIS) who we had played on a number of occasions.

We were very nervous but we couldn’t wait to get started. Knowing that this first quarter would set the team up for the rest of the game we began strong and our team selection proved decisive. The nerves settled and at the end of quarter we were leading 9-2. We made a few changes at the break and with all the players playing at the highest level we went into a 15-8 lead at half-time.

WIS fought back during the third quarter and closed the gap significantly, but we were definitely not ready to give up and lose this quarter. We proved our team’s strength and commitment holding onto a  24-19 lead going into the final quarter. The whole team put everything into the game winning the ball on every area of the court and giving 110% in doing so. The final score was 37-22 with AISHK taking home gold.

As Captain for the final game Bella Taper and I would like to thank the team Ella, Georgia, Angela, Alex, Kayla, India, Taylor, Zoe, Asha and Shae. For coming to all the trainings, showing dedication and always giving everything at all times. But my biggest thanks goes to our Coach Mrs Carter. Mrs Carter thank you for the dedication, time and commitment that you put into the team. Thank you for your knowledge of netball and for everything you have done during the season.
