HSC Business Studies students were provided with an insight into the world of risk and reward, risk management and the benefits of “going long” as opposed to the high risk of “going short”. They were in the fortunate position to be joined by Nick Trueman, Vice President, Head of Relationship Management for Asia and Nick Beecroft, Vice President, Portfolio Specialist Equity Division from the investment management firm T. Rowe Price.
The students learnt how investment managers acquired shares, bonds and other securities in order to meet the financial goals of a multitude of investors such as pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, charities, educational establishments or private investors. The conversation was dynamic and as always, our students impressed by asking a wide range of relevant and probing questions. The discussion was the ideal way for students to conclude the topic on finance.
