Jacaranda’s Big Bash

On 1 March AISHK turned blue as the school celebrated Jacaranda’s mufti day, with the theme for the day being Jacaranda’s Big Bash. The day was great fun, but was also a chance to raise money for our charity HOPE for Cambodian Children.

Primary students had a fantastic day, taking part in a variety of activities including face painting, lucky dips and a tattoo stall. Thank you to the Jacaranda students and parents who provided goods for the bake sale. In addition to this, the Aussie BBQ, run by Jacaranda parents, was another amazing success and delivered over 750 meals to our primary students.

The Secondary Division also celebrated the mufti day in style. The bake sale and Aussie BBQ were very popular, owing mainly to the outstanding efforts of the Jacaranda student volunteers. Students also took part in a basketball shoot-out, a tug-of-war and numerous three-legged races. Great prizes and a fun atmosphere meant that student participation was at an all time high.

In total, approximately HK$40,000 was raised for HOPE for Cambodian Children. HOPE is a charitable foundation that cares for abandoned children and assists those from the poorest areas of the community. This money will go directly to painting their classrooms, fixing the toilets and adding hooks on their doors. It will also help the mums and babies who suffer from HIV and provide them with milk powder and other resources to help prevent the spread of the virus. To find out more about the work that HOPE does please visit their website or visit their Facebook page.

Thank you for your support.
