Over $48000 Raised for Cambodian Children on Jacaranda Mufti day

As a whole school, we celebrated our True Blue Olympic Themed Jacaranda Mufti Day on Wednesday 31 August. This year our whole school focus charity is again HOPE for Cambodian Children. We are so pleased to announce that the Mighty Jacaranda House with your support exceeded all expectations and raised just over $48000. This money will go directly towards paying for the set-up of three classrooms including resources.Currently there are many children, the poorest of the poor, who do not have access to a classroom, to read books, and use all the resources for learning that we take for granted here at AISHK.

A heartfelt thank you must go firstly to the students and parents in Jacaranda who kindly donated cakes and chips to be sold at morning tea and prizes for the mega raffle. On Mufti Day the students demonstrated House spirit by selling hundreds of raffle tickets, cakes and other delights. They face painted and tattooed the Early Childhood students and also helped out with the lunchtime disco and on-field games of tug of war. We extend a thankyou to our awesome Jacaranda Parent Support Crew who helped set up, served with the students at recess then cooked and served the 750 Aussie sausages to the entire Primary School.

HOPE for Cambodian Children are so excited to hear this special news and have promised to send through photos and progress updates of the classrooms as they are being built and readied for the students.
