The timing of this event isn't ideal for AISHK as our season has just started with only a few training sessions, and all the other teams are at the end of their season. Nevertheless our students headed over the border confident in being able to give a few teams a run for their money.
After two days of competing, both the boys and girls teams were playing for sixth and seventh, in the process they both managed to take a few sets from the opposition and we all felt both teams were starting to get their rhythm going.
Both teams arrived Saturday morning in good spirits ready to give it their all, with the girls team quietly confident of not only taking a set but winning their final. This shone through in their final with the girls easily winning and defeating Utahloy International School Guangzhou in straight sets. The boys also played UISG in their final and were looking down the barrel early in their game down 13-6 before a minor comeback saw it at 21-18, UISG then got on a run and won the first set and easily had our measure in the second and won in straight sets.
Special mention goes to the following students that made the All Star Team
Boys: Lachlan Ting and Zachary Chu
Girls: Victoria Hogan and Phoebe Fraser
