A beautiful day dawned as every Waratah student woke up excited. The Waratah House Captains arrived at school early to help with the setup of the event that they had been waiting for all year – the Waratah Mufti Day.
A sea of red surrounded the halls as students entered AISHK last Wednesday 4 March. The front entrance dotted with Waratah students wearing bright red and all sorts of costumes, creating an appealing sight.
Students in both Primary and Secondary Divisions took part in the special day. At recess and lunch, students and teachers indulged in bake sales, with everything from brownies to cupcakes, and a warm sausage sizzle. Waratah House patrons and volunteers also organised a photo booth for all students.
With a theme of 'Waratah Kingdom', Waratah students took part in the best-dressed competition. The theme was a great hit with younger students dressing up. Congratulations to Hope Spiller (Year 3R) for winning the competition!
The Waratah captains had a fantastic time setting up and organising the games, as Vice Captain Chloe Kopec said. Students enjoyed Waratah Mufti Day and are already looking forward to the next one.
